Tempo Focus is a focus timer and task manager that runs entirely inside your own browser. This policy explains what the extension accesses, how it is used, where it is stored, and what is never shared.
The short version. Tempo Focus has no backend servers. Your sessions, tasks, statistics, and settings are stored in your own browser. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not transfer Google user data to anyone.
Signing in with Google is optional — the extension is fully usable without it. If you do sign in, Tempo Focus requests only these scopes:

The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs by Tempo Focus adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide and improve the user-facing features described above. It is never sold, never used for advertising or ad profiling, never transferred to third parties except as required by law, and never read by humans except with your explicit consent, for security purposes, or where required by law.
OAuth access tokens are not written to our own storage. Authentication is handled by the built-in Chrome identity system, which manages and caches tokens on our behalf. Only your non-sensitive profile (email, name, picture URL) is kept in browser storage so the extension can show you as signed in.
You can revoke access for Tempo Focus at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
This is stored using the Chrome storage APIs. Data in chrome.storage.local stays on the device. Data in chrome.storage.sync — settings and summary statistics — is synced by Chrome across browsers where you are signed in, under encryption managed by Google. We cannot read either one; both live in your browser profile, not on our infrastructure.
Tempo Focus can rewrite a rough task title into something clearer using the Google Gemini API. This feature stays off until you supply your own Gemini API key in Settings → AI Assistant. Your key is stored locally in your browser and is never transmitted to us.
When you use the feature, the text of that single task is sent to the Gemini API under your own key, subject to the Google terms that apply to it. We do not store the request, the response, or your key. No API key is bundled into the extension.
Ambient soundscapes are streamed from Wikimedia Commons, and focus tracks you choose are played through an embedded YouTube player. Those requests go directly from your browser to those services, which apply their own privacy policies. Tempo Focus sends no identifying information with them.
Pro upgrades are processed by Stripe on hosted Stripe pages. We never see or store your card details. Payment data handling is governed by the Stripe privacy policy.
Tempo Focus is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and note the change in the release notes for the extension.
